The Owen Dolen Recreation Center will present an evening of fun, food and entertainment. The children will display African American heroes around the center. Special guest George W. Faison, Tony Award winner of the broadway musical The Wiz, will give a motivational talk. Video’s of his choreographic work will be shown at the center and his youth group, R.E.S.P.E.C.T, will present a performance. Also, the young dancers from the dance class at Owen Dolen will dance. Dancer/choreographer Milteri Tucker, Bronx Council on the Arts teaching artist, and Owen Dolen’s afterschool and teens will perform an adaptation of The Wiz.
