Part I: Crazy for Composting with Jodie Colón, NYC Compost Project in the Bronx
Are you passionate about composting but want more from your bin? This Q&A session provides the practical tips, advice, and encouragement you need to take composting to the next level, whether you are just starting out or have been digging in for years. Please bring garden entrance alternate side parking rules for delivery times.
Please Pre-register:
Contact the NYC Compost Project in the Bronx at compost@nybg.org or 718-817-8543
There will be a break for lunch after Part I.
Part II: Healthy Soils, Healthy Communities
Join the Healthy Soils, Healthy Communities project team for a discussion about testing garden soils for lead and other contaminants, with an update about our results from 75 GreenThumb gardens. We’ll focus on what we can learn from these results and actions you can take in your own garden! Come with your questions for a Q&A session about soil testing, understanding results, Best Practices for Healthy Gardening, and other topics.
With project partners from GreenThumb, Cornell Waste Management Institute and Cornell Department of Crop and Soil Sciences, Cornell University Cooperative Extension – New York City, and New York State Department of Health.
