Hands-On Street Tree Care Demo (12:45 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.)
Get your hands a little dirty learning how to care for and beautify the street trees on your block. This workshop will cover all the basics: how to improve soil, watering tips, strategies for discouraging litter and pets, safe tree guard design, and planting a street tree bed garden. After the demonstration, you will have a chance for hands-on practice in tree pits in front of the garden. And of course, you'll be able to adopt your own tree to care for.

By adopting a tree, you or your group pledge to care for specific street tree(s) in your neighborhood. It’s free and easy to sign up, and gives you access to future tree care supplies and opportunities. Connect with other tree stewards throughout the city or strengthen your own neighborhood’s efforts.

The MillionTreesNYC Street Tree Care kit includes watering supplies, cultivator, trowel, gloves, trash bags, the MillionTreesNYC Tree Care Handbook, and an official Stewardship Corps membership card.
