Learn to map and utilize human capital to grow your community garden, about soil health as a precursor for growing healthy food ,season extension and vertical growing to maximize space in the garden. Free seeds and a NYC planting calendar will be distributed.
11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Earth Day Vegetarian Feast
12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Community Workday – Engage in hands-on building activities and general spring clean-up of the garden.
5 p.m. – 6 p.m. – Honoring the Web of Life Exercise in the lead up to the Earth Day Council. Every part of the global life community, from sub-atomic particles to weather systems is part of the web of life. The intelligent process by which they interact produces nature’s harmonious, supportive ways. As part of this web, humans along with everything else are born with this ability of living in harmony and being supportive to the web of life. However, when we fail to see our human nature as connected to nature or attempt to conquer nature we deny the web of life and hurt it. Please come speak from the heart about how nature-disconnected thinking places the Earth and people at risk.
