Skating/Blading

You may use any of Parks' recreational spaces, except tennis courts, without a permit. However, if a permit holder arrives with a valid permit in hand, you must vacate the field or court. An individual must have a season permit or single-play ticket to use Parks' tennis courts.

Organized play (leagues) requires a permit. Click here for an application and more information about permits.

River Avenue Skate Park

Features: Designed closely with the skateboard community, this 10,000 square-foot concrete skate park features stairs, rails, ledges, benches, banks, gaps, and transitioned elements in a plaza setting. River Avenue is one of the City’s first skate parks to use traditional New York City Parks materials and references elements from the the city’s past and present. 
Notes: This is an unsupervised skate park. BMX bikes, scooters, and inline skates are permitted in addition to skateboards.
