Skating/Blading

You may use any of Parks' recreational spaces, except tennis courts, without a permit. However, if a permit holder arrives with a valid permit in hand, you must vacate the field or court. An individual must have a season permit or single-play ticket to use Parks' tennis courts.

Organized play (leagues) requires a permit. Click here for an application and more information about permits.

Features: Have a go at jumping over the big apple, a popular obstacle at this skate plaza. Located underneath the Manhattan Bridge, the park was remodeled in 2012. Skateboarders can now enjoy a better flow and utilize more of the space. The park features ledges, jumps, rails and a pyramid. 
Notes: This skate park is unsupervised. No bikes are allowed; inline skates are permitted. 

Far Rockaway Skate Park

Features: Located just off the beach, Far Rockaway Skate Park is a smooth running concrete park with stairs, rails, ledges, bowled corners and a volcano. All edges are covered with metal for a smoother grind. There is a parking lot conveniently located adjacent to the skate park. 
Notes: This skate park is unsupervised. Scooters and inline skates are permitted. 

Flushing Meadows Corona Skate Park

Features: This 16,000 square-foot skate park, built over the Astral fountain, was funded by the Maloof Brothers for the 2010 Maloof Money Cup skateboarding competition which they later donated to Parks. It was designed by pro-skateboarders and features elements from the most popular skate parks throughout NYC including Chrystie Park and Brooklyn Banks. There are multiple stairs and rails of varying lengths as well as ledges, pyramids and banks. 
Notes: This skate park is unsupervised. Scooters and inline skates are permitted. BMX bicycles are prohibited.
