Pilates is based on a series of core-strengthening exercises created by Joseph Pilates. These exercises use muscle control, breathing techniques, imagery and postural alignment to strengthen the entire body. The beginning Pilates Mat class is a thoughtful, non-threatening approach to these exercises and other movement. There is an emphasis on range of motion, as well as intensive work on abdominal muscles.

Belly Dancing focuses on the folkloric belly dances and classical rhythms of North and East Africa.  Both Beginning and the Intermediate levels work along these parameters. The Intermediate/Advanced Class applies Belly Dancing technique to choreography.
