Important Winter Storm-Related Service Changes

New York City parks are now open. We continue to urge caution in parks under wintry conditions: parks paths can be slippery, snow cover can cover frozen lakes and bodies of water, and branches may have fallen. If you see a fallen branch call 311.

Some recreation centers will open from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. today with limited staffing.

People with disabilities sporting in a park

The City of New York Parks & Recreation is partnering with U.S. Paralympics, a division of the U.S. Olympic Committee, to offer new sports clinics for teens and young adults with physical disabilities.

  • WHO: For those with Cerebral Palsy, traumatic brain injury, stroke survivors, amputation, spinal cord injury and others with physical disabilities.
    WHAT:Track & Field, archery and weightlifting.
    WHEN:October 1, 2011, 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
    WHERE: Queens, Astoria Park Track & Field.
